Patriot Act Gives Bill Ellis Commanding Lead

West Coast snipers disappointed after interesting Saturday

With one exception, the top 4 poolsters spent the Divisional Weekend all 

huddled up together around the point spreads like smart little water 

buffalo, hoping that if one of the "back four" predators made a move, 

they'd 

catch one of the other three.  All four leaders (Hassanali, Diane, Mr. 

Emerton, and Bill Ellis) made picks that were *all* within 4 points of each 

other in *every* game.  Except one.

    Bill Ellis made his move with the Patriots and struck gold.  The only 

one of the leaders who made a pick on his own, Bill has now turned what was 

a 4-way tie into a solitary 9-point lead, and a Slate that's his to lose.

    Despite the erratic weekend of actual football results, none of the 

tigers in the back were able to catch the grazing leaders.  Patrick made 

things exciting when he was the only poolster to pick the Colts; and when 

the Eagles were up by 8 in the 3rd quarter, it looked as if he was going to 

go from 8th to the overall lead in one day.  But the Eagles choked, the 

Bears shot all the snipers in the gut with a mere 3-point victory, and -- as 

if it mattered at this point -- the Chargers rendered it all moot with a 

disappointing loss at home.



Eric Emerton backed up his Patriot noise with an impressive pick against the 

Chargers, but it was too little, too late.  The defending champ finishes 8th 

overall -- his amazingly *4th worst season* out of eleven.



Patrick Godsey was eliminated on the same day he was there in the stadium to 

watch the Chargers eliminated.  "I've said it all along: As the Chargers

go, 

so do I."  His 7th place finish is his best since his rookie year in 1995.



Keith Wengronowitz, who wore a Charger shirt while his wife gave birth to 

his son, was the one who was ultimately let down by the SuperChargers.  The 

lack of Bolt blowout eliminated Wego in 6th place -- which is amazingly just 

his 5th best season out of his 8 years in the pool.



Scott Wyatt also picked the Patriots, and went low with the Ravens, but had 

too much pride in the Bears and Saints, and was eliminated in 5th place.  He 

defends our country in Iraq, he gets juked on the Thursday game and misses 

his picks, he doesn't complain and fights back to 5th place.  A heroic 

effort from Wyatt Jr.

- Eric Emerton was in the Top 5 overall throughout the entire first 15 weeks 

of the season.



- This is the THIRD straight Final Four that includes Mr. Emerton, Diane 

Emerton, and Bill Ellis.



- D. Oliver is winning the "2nd Chance Playoffs" by a moderate margin 

over 

KenDoggie.  Mike Godsey has somehow been mathematically eliminated before 

the conference championships have even begun (101 points back).
