About The Slate of Champions:
The Slate of Champions is intended to commemorate victory in the FunkyDome Memorial NFL Pool. The winner of the pool will have his/her name and year of victory engraved on the plaque, and will then hold the plaque for a year, until the next Super Bowl. It is a large plaque with space for 48 years worth of winners, so it won't be filled up until the year 2042.
The Slate was created after the 1996 season, so although the first two years
of winners have their name on The Slate, they never held it after their
victories. Chris Sabbe was the first to hold The Slate, after beating Jen Alley
in Super Bowl XXXI.
Original Slate:
When the original Slate was filled, the person who will have had won the most championships at the conclusion of Super Bowl XLVI was be given the The Slate to keep. (Eric Emerton, with 4 slates, keeps the original)
Updated FunkDome Site:
In 2022, the site received some slight updates to bring to a little more modern feel. The old site, which lived on in two forms for some 25 years, we still love ya!
