Even more Brothers in Arms:
Wyatt Jr. protects freedom; wins Week 14
----------------------------
For the 4th time in 5 weeks, one of the boys in the Brethren Cup race won the week
– this week’s bro was Scott Wyatt, who came one point away from a perfect 16-game
week. In the past 17 weeks, somebody from the Wyatt-Ellis, Godsey, or Sabbe Clan
has won 14 of those weeks. But regardless of Family Pride, Scott (by earning the
2nd most points in one week than anyone in FMNFLP history) has individually made
the leap from playoff possibility to legitimate contender.
Meanwhile, there was very little movement in the overall standings. With
almost all of the favorites winning their games, there was no way to make up significant
ground on Bill Ellis, and very few people really tried.

Stats and Observations:

- With one minor exception (Jen was in 4th for one week), Banker Bill, Jenaroo,
and JLee have occupied the top 3 spots since Week 4.

- KenDoggie pegged 15 of 16 games correctly, and finished in 9th.

- Patrick Godsey missed 2 games and finished in 15th place.

- Eric Franzen pegged 11 of 16 games correctly and finished in last place.

- Franzen finished in last place for the second week in a row, and for the 22nd
time in his life. He has a commanding lead on the all-time list.

- To his credit, Franzen’s 87 points was the third-ever highest score to finish
in last place. Schussel once finished in last place with 95 points; in his lifetime,
Franzen has finished in last place with 90, 87, 85, and 85 points. Twice someone
has won a 16-game week with fewer than 85 points.

- Bill Ellis is 62-5 with his picks of 11 or higher.

- Diane finally missed a Colts game by picking the Ravens?

- Godsey finally missed a Bills game by picking the Dolphins?

- "Cowboy" Hassnali is still undefeated with the Cowboys.

- Hassanali is 61-4 in games involving the Ravens, Falcons, Patriots, Cowboys, or
Dolphins.

In only…
------------
If the Bucs had beaten the Texans, both Wyatt brothers would have had perfect weeks
(and same with KenDoggie).

If the Rams had won, SchussDaddy would’ve had a perfect week.

If the Titans had held on to their significant 4th quarter lead over the Chargers
(or had won in OT), Eric Emerton would’ve had his *second* career perfect 16-game
week.

E would’ve also won the week if the Cardinals or Niners or Jets or Chiefs or Ravens
had won.

Schussel would’ve won with Carolina.

Sabbe would’ve won if the Lions could’ve held off the Cowboys.

Tully would’ve won with a Dolphin win.

Bill Ellis would’ve won if the Eagles had won (off the crossbar!)

KenDoggie would’ve won if his Raiders had.

Patrick would’ve won if the Steelers had.

Pick of the Week!
--------------------
Since Emerton was one of only three poolsters to pick the only upset of the week,
he wins the Pick of the Week award.

Franzen was elected Clown of the Week for picking his Raiders, even though he’s
already in last place.

This Weekend!
--------------
For the second straight week, Bill Ellis gave the pack a chance by slipping on the
Thursday game (6 points on the Broncos), but none of the frontrunners really took
advantage. The Brothers Godsey jumped out again (28 total points on the Texans),
but it didn’t do them much good last week.

Overall, it looks like the leader is layin’ low this week and the rest of the playoff
contenders are doing the same. All Top 8 contenders are at about a thousand total
dots. With the exception of Bill with his Packers, it doesn’t look like any of
them have more than 200 dots on any one game – the biggest “gamble” for JLee and
Jennaroo is their 150 dots against the Dolphins.

Rivalries to look forward to:
---------------------------------
Bill’s Pack at Jen’s Rams (Jen put a 13 on the Packers)
Zack’s Jets at Newbie’s Patriots (Zack failed to submit picks)
Godsey’s Chargers at Godsey’s Lion’s (Godsey put his boat on the Chargers)
Money’s Bears at Kevin’s Vikings (Money put a 13 on the Vikings)
