"Jason Sullivan should be investigated for insider trading... this looks too
much like Martha Stewart all over again..."

Remember me? Underrated Sully Establishes Himself -- Again
King of "OW" puts pain on Sabbe's perfect morning, wins week
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leading the league in both all-time POWs and all-time COWs, Jason Sullivan
is often regarded as a "gimmicky" loose cannon of a poolster who gets
lucky
from time to time. But thanks to a Dallas victory and a Bengal loss,
Sullivan overtook Sabbe's ferocious morning, capturing the Weekly Win and
making the pundits pause to consider his place in the pantheon. With 14
POWs and 11 COWs, this was the 12th time Sullivan has won the week (4th
place all-time) and his 53rd money finish (4th place all-time). He has a
Slate, he's the all-time leader in "money finishes per season," and don't
look now, but he's in 2nd place overall in 2005, just 10 points behind
Godfather Emerton.
In other news from around the pool, Kathy Walser took her fiance's
playoff spot, Godsey has plummetted from Slate contention to playoff cusp,
and the pool in general is finally starting to separate into packs -- the
mob is a significant 40 points behind Mr. Emerton, and the basement is
touching the 100-points-back milestone.

Random stats:
---------------------
- Wego cashed this week for the first time since Week 1 of last year. His
21-week streak of futilty is 3rd worst of all-time, just one short of
Jennings's 22-week streak. Tully Wyatt holds the possibly-unbreakable
record at 35 weeks.

- Bill Ellis, despite winning the Slate last year, now has the longest
current cashless streak going, with no money over the past 12 weeks (Week 10
of last year).

- Jason Sullivan is a combined 15-0 with his 14-, 12-, and 11-spots.

- Money has yet to get his 12-game correct (0-5).

- Before this week, Sabbe was 0-7 in games involving Washington or Denver.
This week he picked Washington to beat Denver, and would've won the week if
they had.

- The Brothers Godsey are 0-10 in games involving New Orleans.

- Wego is 0-11 in any game involving the Cowboys, Chiefs, or Seahawks.

- Farnsworth is 0-19 in any game involving the Vikings, Patriots, Falcons,
or Panthers.

- Schussel and Farnsworth have each earned 50.7% of their total possible
points. Meaning, they have combined to beat two dartboards by a total of 9
points.

- Nobody has yet to make a single point by betting against the Broncos.

Brothers Wyatt: 104 points behind the leader
Brothers Godsey: 132 points
Brothers Sabbe: 154 points

NEW FEATURE!
WHO'S HOT? WHO'S NOT?

ON FIRE:
Eric Emerton (4 straight money placements)
Robert Emerton (4 out of 5 weeks in the money)
Scott Wyatt (from 16th to 14th to 11th to 7th)

So cold:
Mike Godsey (3rd to 12th in two weeks)
Ken Vis (after two money finishes, back in the basement)

If they had won....
--------------------------------
BEARS: DOliver wins
RAVENS: Emerton ends the 87-week famine!
EAGLES: Sabbe wins #14
(undefeated) REDSKINS: Sabbe wins by 12 points
(undefeated) BENGALS: Sabbe wins by 16 points
(undefeated) BENGALS and REDSKINS: Sabbe wins by 28 (record is 19, and then
13)

PICKS OF THE WEEK:
-----------------------------
13 of you democracy-loving Americans came out this week and nominated 8
different Picks d'Excellence, but Jen Retsek's mid-range points on the
Seahawks edged Sullivan's quest for an unprecedented 15th POW. The honor is
the 2nd and a halfth for Jenaroo all-time.
3 different horrible picks received 3 COW nominations, but at the
11th hour, Farnsworth's full boat against the defending champs (at home)
took it down. There's something called an "injury report" and it's online,
and it's in English. Dishonorable mentions include JLee's 9 on a team that
gave up 52 straight points, and DOliver's dirty dozen on the Bears.

Call-outs
-------------
Chris Sabbe (1-0) beats Mike Godsey (1-1) with his 2 on the J-e-t-s.
Truly the rotted cherry atop the poop sundae that was this weekend.

Call-ins
---------
Dylan "I should really root for my team a little more" Retsek: 1 on the
Bears
Adam "I own a Browns jacket" Jennings: 2 on the Browns

Diane "Get off my bandwagon" Emerton: 2 on the Bills
Tully Wyatt: 7 on the Dolphins (160 dots!)

This week:
----------------
SUCH A GOOD WEEK!

- Godsey's full Buc Boat sails into Miami. C'mon Wyatt, it's just a 5-point
spread: Put something on them. Let's get it on.

- Money's Bears at home against Kevin's Vikings. Money, I'll put a dozen on
them if you will.

- Sully's Patriots against Kathy's Broncos. Will the defending champ step
up to Kathy's pride?

And finally:
- Patrick's Chargers ("I'll be putting a 14 on them, not to prove anything,
but because the Raiders suck ass") against Raider Nation.

Can We Just Say?
------------------------
Perhaps this week we'll see something in the Trash Talk room besides
Godsey's novels and Wyatt's riddles? Maybe something about football
actually, about the Bears, Bucs, anti-Bucs, Vikings, Broncos, Dolphins,
Chargers, or Giants, or....maybe even...something from Raider Nation. If it
is to happen, this is the week. Just saying.

See ya next week.
