Sullivan Leads Incumbents through Midterm Elections
Wyatts, Emertons control House and Senate

Despite the disappointing rejection of the Patriot Act on Sunday night, 
Jason Sullivan led a threesome of usual candidates to the top of the Week 9 
Standings, and earned himself a 13th term atop the weekly standings.  
Sullivan, Mike Godsey, and Kathy Wyatt, who have 42 weekly wins and 163 
money finishes between them, finished 1-2-3 in this week's standings 
respectively.
     But while Sullivan will reign supreme for another four days, the real 
story might be the political power of the right-leaning Emerton/Wyatt party, 
who has combined to control all five seats atop the yearly standings.  
Political analyst George Stephanopoulos spoke the minds of many when he said 
that "BAMF can 'holla out to the ladies in the back' [regarding his
solo 
shot] all he wants, but the success of Sullivan and Godsey and their liberal 
party is short-lived compared to the staying power of the conservatives at 
the top.  As long as they keep 'believing in' whatever the consensus votes
for, they will be leading the pool for a long time."
     The ultra-conservative Emerton family has been in control of the pool 
for all of recent history, but since Tully Wyatt, once known as "Man of the
People," switched to the conservative party two years ago, he has yet to 
finish the season below 6th place.  And now Kathy Wyatt, who used to hold 
Bronco Pride above all else, has, since her marriage to Tully, started 
picking more conservatively with her football team, and now openly mocks the 
lower class.  But you can't argue with success: The Wyatts and Emertons are 
in charge of the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the CIA, and your 
kitchen.  Even Scott Wyatt is two points out of sixth.

- Eric Emerton has 15th or worse in each of the past 4 weeks.  In the 
previous 22 weeks, he finished below 15th only one time.

- Franzen finished in last place for the 17th time of his life, the most of 
anybody in the pool.

- Godsey won money for the 67th time of his life, the most of anybody in the 
pool.

- After 7 straight weeks without a solo shot, we've now gone 3 straight 
weeks with one.  This time it was Patrick Godsey, with his second career 
bomb.

- It has been 83 weeks since Farnsworth has won the week.

- Chris Sabbe has still not won a single POW.

- Nobody has won money in three straight weeks except Ken Vis.  He cashed in 
the first three weeks, and hasn't won a dime since then.

- Money Retsek has been between 10th and 12th place in the season standings 
for all but 2 weeks.  Mike Schussel has gone from 20th to 5th to 12th in 
just the last four weeks.

- Jen Retsek is 0-8 with the Jaguars.

- Ken Vis is 8-0 with both the Packers and Colts

- Chris Sabbe is 8-0 with the Giants.

- Franzen and Farnsworth are 8-0 with the Ravens.

- Wego and Money are 8-0 with the Niners

- Kevin Sabbe is 8-0 with the Browns

- Jennings is 8-0 with the Seahawks

- Patrick Godsey is 8-0 with the Colts



If Only....

- Mike Godsey would've won the week if the Rams, Falcons, Bengals, or Texans
had won.  Sorry, Loser.

- Diane Emerton would've won the week if the Steelers had won.

- Tully Wyatt would've won if the Packers had won.

- Kathy Wyatt would've won the week if the Bucs had won.

- Ken Vis would've won if the Raiders had...never mind.

The People elected the outspoken Charger fan as their favorite Party Person 
this week, nominating his solo shot on the Lions as the Pick of the Week.
      Six other poolsters were considered clowns, but there wasn't one who 
really stepped forward as a true Bozo.
